Santwanada Sanchara 2.0 – A Day with Orphans

Coastal Friends Mangalore successfully conducted the second edition of “Santwanada Sanchara 2.0 – A Day with Orphans” on December 14, 2024. The event, aimed at bringing joy and hope to orphaned children, was inaugurated by Mr. Anupam Agrawal, Police Commissioner of Mangalore, at BMS Hotel.

A total of 85 children, picked up from their homes and dropped back after the event, participated in this special day. Prior to the start of the event, Coastal Friends distributed uniforms to all participating children, ensuring they felt special and part of the day’s festivities. The event unfolded as follows:

  1. Breakfast and Inauguration: The day began with a hearty breakfast, followed by the formal inauguration of the event.
  2. Pilikula Zoo and Exhibition: The children were taken to Pilikula, where they enjoyed a visit to the zoo and participated in an exhibition, experiencing nature and wildlife.
  3. Lunch at Umaiya Garden, Kutthar: The children then enjoyed a delicious lunch at Umaiya Garden, Kutthar, providing a relaxing break during their exciting day.
  4. Cultural Activities: Various cultural activities were held, showcasing the talents of the children and offering them an opportunity to express themselves.
  5. Competitions: Engaging competitions were organized, providing fun and fostering healthy competition among the children.
  6. Drawing Activities: The children participated in creative drawing activities, allowing them to explore their artistic side.
  7. Magic Show: A magical performance added excitement and wonder to the day, leaving the children amazed and delighted.
  8. Sports and Swimming: The children also enjoyed engaging in sports and swimming activities, offering them a chance to be active and have fun.
  9. Fun Stalls: The event featured small stalls reminiscent of childhood days, such as popcorn stalls and other treats, creating a nostalgic atmosphere for everyone.

Dancing and Singing:

Coastal Friends members joined the children in dancing, singing, and performing memory games, creating a joyful and energetic atmosphere. Volunteers made every effort to fulfill the children’s wishes and ensure they enjoyed themselves to the fullest. The children also enjoyed performing various mimicry acts, adding to the fun of the day.

A significant highlight of the day was the launch of the new Coastal Friends website, which was proudly unveiled by the children. In the presence of esteemed guests, the children had the honor of launching the website, symbolizing their importance in the initiative and making them an integral part of the celebration. The website launch added an extra layer of excitement to the day and was a proud moment for all involved.

Coastal Friends Bravery Award:

During the conclusion program, Master Abdul Khader Sawad, son of Zainudeen, Sunlight KC Road, was presented with the Coastal Friends Bravery Award. He was honored for his remarkable presence of mind and quick action, which served as an inspiration to all. His bravery demonstrated courage and responsibility beyond his years, and he truly deserves to be celebrated for his exemplary act.

Conclusion Program: The day concluded with a closing program, marking the end of a memorable experience for all participants. Guests who attended the conclusion program expressed their appreciation for the initiative, proudly acknowledging the positive impact it had on the children. They were deeply moved by the love and care shown by Coastal Friends and were proud of the initiative.

At the conclusion program, the event was graced by several esteemed guests who played a significant role in making it a grand success. The list of dignitaries included Nasir Lucky Star (Waqf Chairman DK, Govt of Karnataka), Hasir Marine (Partner, Marine), Raheem Expertise (Director of Expertise), Arjun Bhandarkar (President of Save Life Charitable Trust), Saiduddin (Vice President of Talent Research Foundation), Mahammad Ali Kammaradi (Ex-member, Food Commission, Govt of Karnataka), Shahul Hameed KK (President of Minority Cell, DK Congress), Shabeer Siddakatte (General Secretary of Minority, DK Congress), Latheef Gurupura (MD of Ani Trading), Siraj Parladka (Founder of Coastal Friends Mangalore), and Shareef Abbas Valal (President of Coastal Friends Mangalore). Their presence added immense value to the event, and their support was greatly appreciated by the entire Coastal Friends team.

Throughout the day, Coastal Friends Mangalore members treated the children with love, care, and attention, as though they were their own. The children were embraced with warmth and affection, enjoying every moment alongside the volunteers. The bond between the children and the volunteers grew stronger, filled with smiles, laughter, and lasting memories.

As a token of appreciation, Rs. 10,000 worth hampers were given to each child who participated, ensuring they left with a special gift.

The event was also supported by a dedicated medical team and comprehensive transportation facilities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.

In addition, Coastal Friends Mangalore made a generous contribution to the community by donating 50 wheelchairs to individuals in need, ensuring that those who required mobility support could benefit from the donation.

The positive message of the event, as conveyed by Coastal Friends Founder Mr. Siraj Parladka, was powerful: “They are not orphans; they are our special guests.” This message reflected the core belief that these children are not to be pitied, but celebrated as valuable members of the community.

The event was proudly called “A Blessed Day with Our Kids – Happiest Moments of Our Life”, encapsulating the joy, love, and unforgettable memories created throughout the day.
